For sale: 1976 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT Trailer Special survivor, with factory big block 390 4bbl and C-6 automatic. 73k actual miles, still running original alternator and date coded plug wires. Purchased new by an older couple in WA state, then came to Montana. Original owner was a well-known business owner, I spoke to his son. The truck was his "baby", and he ordered dealer A/C (paperwork included) and installed a grab bar on the passenger side for his wife. A real throwback time capsule with the classic 70's Green Glow exterior and Avacodo interior! My millennial kids and their friends really "dig" this truck, and love driving it. Unmolested and original save for "classic sounds" Concours series AM/FM radio and aforementioned passenger grab bar. Original wheels and hubcaps are included. Documents from original sale include window sticker, warranty card, manual, warranty booklet, and factory build sheet. Still has the original jack and tools. Original buck tags and under-bed spare tire carrier still in place. Great truck to drive as is or take to the next level. Exterior: Presents well, original paint save for hood and upper doors. Currently showing patina fading on top of truck, some small paint cracks. Very dry truck, I've owned many Dentside Fords, and all the usual spots where these trucks typically rust look great on this truck, even the underside - including floors, cab mounts, cab supports, and drop-offs
. Truck was undercoated when new. A few small surface rust spots on bed floor where moisture gathered under bed mat. Bottoms of doors had some corrosion starting, I cleaned that up with a wire brush, treated it, and touched up paint - see pics. Inside of box is in great shape and wheel wells are really nice. Chrome, stainless and trim in good condition, even the hard-to-find XLT grille badge. Glass is good and windshield is new.

Interior: Original, clean, and decent. No rodents or smells. Original headliner and carpet in good condition. Dash pad is not cracked, but does show some warping. Seat upholstery has tears on driver side bottom under the cover. I believe everything on this truck works except the A/C - lights and gauges all work including fuel, and wipers, heater, parking brake, radio, etc all working. Windows roll up and down and doors lock.  Overall a clean driver that's ready to use as is.
Mechanical:
Starts, runs, and drives out great. Truck has that tight, low-mile feel. Original 390 four barrel pulls strong with no smoke, noise, or major leaks. Really torquey and smooth. I believe everything works except A/C. The A/C control switch is tucked behind the dash bezel. A/C hasn't been used in a while, as it's typically not needed here up north, but belt is still in place and compressor turns freely. New heavy duty radiator. Does have exhaust leak when cold, sounds like collector gaskets. Tires on the truck are in very good condition, aluminum wheels are not perfect, but original wheels and hubcaps are included. Previous owner stated both fuel tanks work, I've only used main(rear) tank. As with any older vehicle, it will need maintenance and repairs along the way. If you live in a state with very strict vehicle inspections, they will no doubt find something for you to fix, so expect that. These trucks are noted for reliability and build quality, and are fairly simple to work on with good parts availability.

Location/Shipping:
Pickup will be in Helena, MT 59602, which is near the junction of Interstate 15 and Interstate 90. Transportation is at the expense and arrangement of the BUYER, but I will work with your transporter for loading, meet up, etc. Please research transportation options before purchasing. Once sold, I will cancel my insurance, so all liability for damages are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Payment:
Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time.
A 0 non-refundable PAYPAL deposit is due immediately at auction end
. The remainder is due within 3 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise.
