    Hi,  (Jan 2020,)
As of Jan 2020, Ebay is 1099, Ebay fee is 7%, Paypal fee is 3% and now  CA. sales tax of 9%, + shipping costs.
I have been Refurbishing and Selling Cook tops, Range tops and Ranges
    on Ebay (fees and taxes)
    and Craig's List Los Angeles
(no taxes, venmo no fee, paypal 3%, paypal/ friends/ family, no fees) for more than 5 years from Los Angeles.  Most end up looking 9 out of 10, not new, and function perfectly, I have multiple units on Ebay.  I focus on Cooktops, Rangetops and Ranges.
    No
    fridge or dishwasher.
    Refurbishing mean:
    1. Test and fix all functionality of the unit.
    2. Clean the unit.
    3. Resurface Stainless. ( bull nose, pick up light scratches)
    4. Retest.  I do retest and touch up on all units prior to Shipping.
    IMPORTANT. ( Installation)
    1. Check the
    CUT OUT SIZE,
hole on your countertop(for cooktops), so that the new Unit will drop in and fit.  This will save Big Hassle from having to re-cut tile or granite. On ranges or rangetops, most are the same cut outs.
    2. You should
    pick the Look and Brand
you like in the price range you are comfortable with.  What you see is what you get.
    3. Functions you should consider are
    High output
(1500 btus.), continuous grates, simmer and lights.
    4.  The main Problems on CT and RT are
    a. higher end Spark modules with flame sensors wearing out.  20 years + or - 5 years. ( replace)
    b.  90% of breakdowns are the switch, when liquid gets on them from cleaning or water boiling over for the cooktop.  ( light the burner and let it dry out.)
    c. Sometimes the ceramic igniters can crack and spark to other metal parts.  or the wire can bleed and spark to the wrong part. ( replace , or wire, you can tape with electrical tape.)
    All Brands are reliable but
    More added,
    more stuff to break down
    ,
