Description
This is circa 2014 model Bosch induction cooktop. Bosch is one of the best brands with technology and controls not available in other bands. It still looks new and has very intuitive controls and usage and clear markings for the burner elements. On many newer brands they make the burner elements nearly invisible so it's tough to figure out where to put the pots. Features:Performance
11" heating element with powerful 3600W
SpeedBoost - This fast-heat mode boils water twice as fast as conventional electric cooktops, saving time and energy.
Convenience
CountDown Timer - Built-in timers for each element. Doubles as general-purpose kitchen timer.
Safety
2-Level Heat Indicator - Warns if cooktop is warm or hot
Anti-Overheat System - Shuts off cooktop, if surface temperature exceeds a set value
ChildLock - Prevents the cooktop from being accidentially switched on. Locks temperature settings if in use.
Overflow Detection - Sounds alarm and shuts off cooktop in case of an overflow
SafeStart - Ensures that element is only activated if suitable cookware is in position; no activation when other metal objects are placed on element
Efficiency
PotSense - Automatically adjusts cooking element to the size of the pan bottom
The best things about induction are, in my opinioin:
1) nothing boils water faster, not even gas. If you want to cook a pot of pasta, you'll have that water rolling in no time, especially with speed boost.
2) you can't accidentally activate a burner and burn yourself. This goes equally to children and dogs and cats. The burner simply will not turn on without a pot or pan there, even when unlocked.
3) precise controls. Bosch beats GE in precision selection of temperature, with instantaneous response. Bosch also has 1/2 steps for precision control which most GE models do not. You can get the same precision with lower lows and higher highs vs natural gas.
4) you won't waste energy. The surface does not heat up except with respect to getting heat kick-back from the pot or pan. The room doesn't heat up as much. Induction cooking is great for energy efficient homes, especially for summertime cooking. You are not sending wasted heat to the room. You are heating the pot directly.
5) since you aren't heating the surface, cleanup is a breeze. You won't have a blackened mess or burnt on stains on your stovetop and it's easy to clean. Get some Cerama Brite or equivalent for the very occasional cleaning of spills from very hot pan cooking, like a pan sauce or whatever. Mostly, you will never need it. Most times just some Windex or vinegar in a bottle is all you need to clean it off with no scrubbing.
Original installation manual is included in envelope on outside of box. Use/care manuals not included but can be downloaded from Internet. Cooktop and connection wires are only items in box.
