(STEREOTAPE) LONDON TWINPACK ST 906-K-DP:
THE MOODY BLUES:
TO OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN'S CHILDREN
& ON THE THRESHOLD OF A DREAM
This London Twinpack 7.5 i.p.s. 4-track reel tape contains two full length Moody Blues albums.
EXTREMELY RARE "Reel Society" Dolby Twin Pack tape - The Reel Society
Duplicators
took
over
MAGTEC/STEREOTAPE around 1975/76 and are of the same quality and kept the familiar Red and black bar borders on the
front
cover for their
Dolby
tapes
The sound quality of this tape is very good, better than previous single-album tapes of the same titles I have tested.
(I’ve noticed that Quad versions of Moody Blues albums also tend to also sound better than earlier 2-channel versions.)
Both sides of this 4-track play perfectly from beginning to end. I heard no glitches of any sort.
The tape still looks fresh; it’s flat, shiny and supple.
A new long leader was spliced onto the start end of this tape.
The pack is flat on the reel.
Please see the photos to check the condition of the box and reel.
On the Threshold of a Dream
is the fourth album by The Moody Blues, released in April 1969 on the Deram label.
The album begins with a poem accompanied by electronic sounds, and these sounds also appear at the close of the album – most vinyl pressings of the album continue the sounds into the album’s run-out groove, causing them to play continuously until the record player’s tonearm is lifted. Tape and CD versions of the album employ a slow fade.
To Our Children's Children's Children
is the fifth album by The Moody Blues, released in November 1969.
“Watching and Waiting” was released as a single to promote the album, but sold poorly. On the other hand, “Gypsy (Of a Strange and Distant Time)” became a fan and album oriented rock radio favorite, despite never being released as a single, and remained in the band's concert setlist through the 1970s.
The Moody Blues
, a rock band who formed in Birmingham, England in 1964,
were originally keyboardist
Mike Pinder
, multi-instrumentalist
Ray Thomas
, guitarist
Denny Laine
, drummer
Graeme Edge
, and bassist
Clint Warwick
. The group came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music.
Over time they made some personnel changes and eventually settled on a line-up of Pinder, Thomas, Edge, guitarist
Justin Hayward
, and bassist
John Lodge
, who stayed together for most of the band's "classic era" into the early 1970s.
The band has sold 70 million albums worldwide, which includes 18 platinum and gold LPs. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2018.
