Planning Notes
Depending on the type of installation — surface- or flush-mounted, with or without cover — the specific location of the cut-out and the control knob positions may vary.
The horizontal positioning of the knobs may be aligned with the specific areas.
The drawing “Installation of the control knob” must be observed if the panel is more than 1" thick (there must be a recess at the rear).
If installing adjustment strip VA 450 take into account the additional space required for the depth.
In a combination of Vario cooktops with at least one appliance cover, the adjustment strip VA 450 is required.
In a combination of several Vario 400 series cooktops a connection strip VA 420 must be used.
Depending on the type of installation— surface- or flush-mounted, with or without cover — the respective VA 420 connecting strip must be used.
For flush installation the edge height in the cut-out needs to be at least 1/2" and for surface-mount 3/8". Ensure a continuous cut surface of 90°.
The weight capacity and stability, especially in case of thin countertops, must be supported using suitable substructures. Take the appliance weight and additional loads into account.
Flush installation is possible in countertops made of stone, synthetics or solid wood. Heat resistance and watertight sealing of the edges must be observed. For other materials, please consult with your countertop manufacturer.
The groove must be continuous and even, so that uniform placing of the appliance on the gasket is ensured.
Do not use discontinuous lining.
The joint width may vary due to size tolerances of the combinations and of the countertop cut-out.
If installing several Vario products in individual cut-outs allow for a minimum distance of 2" in between the cooktops.
Operates with magnetic (induction) iron pots and pans only. For an optimal heat distribution, the use of sandwich bottom cookware is recommended. Immersion depth depending on installation situation, 2-5/8" for surfacemount or 2-3/4" for flush-mount.
Panel thickness 5/8" – 1".
A combination with VL 414 downdraft is not recommended due to insufficient air extraction from the center zone.
Appliance can be snapped into the countertop from above.

Our common carrier freight companies are responsible for curbside delivery only.(If item ships UPS ground driver will in most cases deliver to your front door or porch area. If UPS shipment is valued over ,000.00 we will require an adult signature .
Please prearrange help if you need inside delivery, some of these units are extremely large and heavy; you may have to hire a moving company. Please also keep in mind that some large trucks may have problems delivering to residential areas with narrow streets, steep driveways, and low power lines. If a delivery is not able to be made under these circumstances, the buyer is responsible for any and all additional costs that incur. It is the responsibility of the buyer to check all deliveries for damage. If any damage is found it must be noted on the shipping companies receipt in order to file a claim. All packaging material must be kept for the claim to be valid. Our carriers are instructed not to make inside deliveries, if the carrier does so & they bill us you will be charged for the added delivery costs.
All freight deliveries will require an adult signature before delivery is completed.
Check your purchase immediately for any damage that may have occurred in transit.
Our shipping quotes include maximum liability insurance. If your item is damaged, you need to file a claim with the shipping company as soon as possible. Please allow us 4-5 days to ship your item. In the event that this unit is not in the box, we need this time to have the item crated or palletized.

Missing the Common Carrier Delivery:
If you fail to be present at time of your scheduled delivery or if the carrier deems your delivery in a restricted area you will be charged for the return delivery trip.
Inside Delivery: If you request an inside delivery the carrier has been instructed not to offer this option, it will be noted on the delivery Bill of Lading to not honor this service, if carrier does an inside delivery you will be charged for this service,
usually 0.00-0.00.
Refusing a Shipment:
If you placed an order then you refused it for any reason other than damage to the package, please note that you will receive a refund for the amount of your original transaction less restocking fees and any shipping charges you incurred in getting the package to you originally as well as the cost of the return shipping. As long as product is received at our warehouse undamaged.

f you received a defective unit, please keep in mind that most manufacturers may require a service call to diagnose the problem before RA is issued.
If issue is strictly “Cosmetic” such as top, side or front dents, scratches, etc. we will most likely send you the part to resolve the issue
. All defective appliances will be serviced by the manufacturer under manufacturer warranty before RA is issued. When a product needs to be returned please contact us to receive an RA number. All merchandise defects will be verified by our returns department prior to shipment of the replacement or replacement parts. If a replacement is not available we will credit you for the original price paid for the product. If your product is missing parts, contact us immediately.
