    Description

Here is a vintage home decor item: A black and gold oriental/Japanese style shelf(?) that might also double as a display stand. Measures 16.75 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 3 inches deep. Made of very thick,
    sturdy
plastic material (we were convinced it was ceramic, but the circular molding marks convinced us otherwise - see photos). The back side has open/hollow design that potentially allows this item to hang on a wall using very long nails/screws. However, it stands alone as very stable and therefore might actually be a display stand of some sort? We don't really know. (Note that when turned upside down, it is just as sturdy - and also has all edges finshed - so it can be used that way, too.) The style of this object likely dates it to the 1950s, an era in which there were many oriental style collectibles and knick-knacks.
This is a used, pre-owned vintage item. The gold paint has very few scratches. There are two non-detracting chips in the plastic on the backside. There is a non-detracting scratch mark on the top of one side. Some light dirt in the interior hollow areas.
This item has a moderate sweet/stinky smell that might be related to plastic off-gassing? and/or storage.
Please examine the photos and ask any questions you like before purchasing.
    Enjoy!
