  • Condition: This original, Re-release, Very Fine to Near Mint (C8.5), Folded movie poster exhibits solid, rich black and greenish (from light to dark green) colors with excellent detail of the actors and images on a basically pristine background. The only flaw that exists is minor separation at the center and bottom crossfolds (see photos) - a crossfold being where a vertical Fold line meets a horizontal Fold line. The top crossfold has only very minor wear. We also see two 1" faint squiggly lines on the woman's head above her left eye. This could be a production flaw or no flaw at all. We checked other views of this 1957 re-release original movie poster on the internet and found that these two lines are on those originals too. Faint pencil writing on the reverse does not show through to the front. There are no pin holes, no tape or tape residue, and no tears. There is no soiling or smudging. There is no loss of paper or color. Low to medium gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    Update Nov 29, 2019:  At the descriptor that says "Original/Reproduction" at the bottom right of the picture, it lists this poster as a "Reproduction".  That is not the case.  This is an original re-release movie poster from RKO; it is not a reproduction.  However, when I went into relist and update the listing, that category only gave me one choice - which was "Reproduction".  So it was put that (i.e. Reproduction) in there or don't list it.  Or do it all over again.  So I listed it saying "Reproduction".
    The point is this is NOT A REPRODUCTION; it is an original movie poster.  And it is also one great movie that I just saw the other night on TCM.  That all said, this is why I love technology, NOT!  Thanks for listening.  Bruce

    in 1957.   The original first release of the poster and the movie was in 1951.  The poster in 1951 was much different than this 1957 re-release.  There was also a re-release in 1954 which is similar to the 1957 re-release, but a tad different.  This R-1957 re-release is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars

    Almost all original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or defect.
    This unrestored movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint.
    Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985.  Normally, we would not grade any original movie poster as high as a C8.5 when it has separation at the cross Folds, which this one has separation at 2 of the 3 cross-folds- as described above.   However, in the case of this original (1) the paper remains at the two cross-folds and will be greatly alleviated once the poster is laid flat and properly framed, and (2) no other discernible flaws exist to warrant a downgrade.  Either way, you have all of the information and the photos on this listing- where the two cross-fold separations are pictured - to make your own decision.
    This poster is immediately ready for framing and display and will create a fantastic display.
