  • Condition: In pretty good overall condition, original decals on both sides and on inside of wheels, no pull string. All wooden parts and pieces are well connected together, cart basket is just slightly loose where front and back connect to cart base, paper decals look to be 99% complete, some foxing, staining, fading overall. With the labels being so intact it is still a good overall presentation. Some glue overrun on one of the wheels at the dowel joint, not sure if this is original or a repair but it is well held together now. All references I find for this toy online call it a Chime Dog, but I don't see any chime, noisemaker or bell anywhere on him so if he was supposed to have it, he does NOT have it now.

    WWII TOY 1943 N.N. Hill Wooden Pull Toy Dog Chime w Pull Cart All Wood War Toy
    Sweet wooden pull cart toy, circa 1943, made by the N. N. Hill Brass Co. and is marked "N. N. Hill Brass Co. MADE IN USA HAMPTON, CT". This dog pull cart is made of all wood as was typical of many WWII era toys due to the metal shortages of the war. He is a smiling puppy in overalls, a blue and white striped shirt and pulling a wooden hand cart. He looks to be very original- all his nails and tacks look old and original (missing one nail on bottom of cart) and looks like he saw very little play time.
    He is a large toy as far
    as pull toys go- he measures 18" long by 12-1/2" tall by 7" wide.
